I get frustrated with J. Crew's men's offerings at times, but generally I'm a fan. Every so often they bring out something I really love, like this vintage-style cotton slub twill short. The fabric has some weight to it, but they're washed to soften them up. Trim cut, button fly, 10.5 inch length. My idea of the perfect summer basic. Currently on sale, I like them best in bisque (shown) and faded black.

I love the office's chino pant as well as the shorts - my favorite. BUT, I have a huge beef with J Crew. Why do they need to fray and nick all their pants? I get the break in wash but fraying and nicking only shortens the life of the garment and, frankly, I don't like the way it looks so unless I love something at J Crew I often pass because of their treatments.
